Describe your typical day.
In a typical day I can go from working on a campaign photoshoot, to working on current trends and designing for the up and coming seasons ahead. I love being a part of all creative aspects of the Rare brand.

Any advice for aspiring fashion designers?
The best advice I would give to an aspiring designer is to gain as much experience as possible, interning is extremely beneficial to gain a lot of knowledge within different markets in the business.

What is your favourite piece from Rare at the moment?
My favourite piece of the SS15 collection is the Black Cape Sleeve Maxi Dress. I love this dress as I feel it is a key piece for any season and very true to my own style.

Hannah, our visual merchandiser and swimwear buyer, has worked at Rare for three years, so we asked her what she gets up to at Rare HQ…

Rare London Merchandiser InterviewWhat made you choose merchandising?
I have always had a strong interest in fashion from a very early age, I used to always spend my pocket money on buying fashion magazines and experimenting with different crazy outfits, which at the time I thought was a good idea haha! This lead on to studying Design at university.

How did you get the job?
I first started at Rare as a photographer then moved on to Merchandising and now I also buy swimwear along side this.

What’s the best thing about working at Rare?
I really enjoy working at Rare because I can work in a range of areas and it keeps each day interesting.

Describe your typical day.
My typical day would be to add new products to the site, write product descriptions and visual merchandise the site to make it as engaging as possible and set up new trends. I also research and buy in new swimwear styles that I feel our customer would want to wear.

What advice would you give to aspiring fashion merchandisers or buyers?
I would say never give up and always have a focus to work towards to get what you want and love what you do :-)

What is your favourite piece from Rare at the moment?
At the moment the Black Lace Back Detail Plunge Jumpsuit is my favourite! It reflects my personal style the most from the new collection that has just landed at Rare. I like clean lines and a more tailored look with a bit of sassy too, so this jumpsuit is perfect!

Bikinis In The Evening

The summer season is here and the annual panic sets in as you try to fit your whole wardrobe into a suitcase for two weeks in the sun. With Rare London’s brand new SS15 Swimwear collection, your poolside style is taken care of. Whether you opt for a statement swimsuit or a daring bikini, we have styles for every destination, as well as a gorgeous selection of cover ups and kimonos to complete your look. Forget the baggage limit, we have stunning pieces which can be styled in various ways and can take your outfit day-to-night for the party that never ends.

Beach to bar

These two swimsuit and cover-up combos are ideal for relaxing on the beach then getting the party started with cocktails at the beach bar.

Rare London Bikinis in the evening holiday look 1Our Limited Edition Watermelon Sequin Beach Cover Up is a summer staple and can easily be worn as a dress or a top when layering over your swimsuit. The sheer fabric is great for showing off your swimsuit underneath, we would team it with our Limited Edition Multi Strap Swimsuit. The sequin watermelon motif is a hot trend this summer and would look great day or night. Wear with our Blue Distressed Denim Shorts for a relaxed and versatile look. Better yet, it is now in our sale at just £20!
Rare London Bikinis in the evening holiday look 2Brand new to Rare, our White Crochet Maxi Beach Cover Up is perfect for hiding those uneven tan lines! This would look fabulous worn over any swimsuit, but we particularly love it with our Limited Edition Black Stripe Trim Bikini (available to pre-order). The maxi length and tassel cord waist tie is really flattering and looks chic for post-beach partying. Crochet is a must-have for summer 2015 and you will definitely wow the crowd in this getaway essential.

Pool to party

We have hand-picked these two looks for a perfect poolside style which can be worn day-to-night to keep the party going.

Rare London Bikinis in the evening holiday look 3For those long summer nights, our Multi Printed & Beaded Tunic with gold beaded detail is a go-to holiday style. The stand out pattern and bright colours of the tunic look great paired with a tan and our Neon Orange Multi Strap Bikini. We think these two styles are gorgeous together and make for the ultimate party ensemble. The slinky fabric and gold beading transforms this tunic from poolside to pool party.

Rare London Bikinis in the evening holiday look 4Our most wanted turquoise Pineapple Embellished Swimsuit (available to pre-order) is a must for making a statement this summer. The pineapple motif is bang on trend for SS15 and this swimsuit would look great worn under denim shorts. However we love our White Crochet Kaftan layered over this swimsuit, as flashes of bright turquoise show through the crochet fabric for a cool holiday look.

Whatever your destination this summer, transform your look from daytime cool to night time chic with our statement swimwear and cover ups.

Glastonbury 2015 Fashion Inspo

As Glastonbury Festival has drawn to a close once again, we can’t stop talking about it – the music, the atmosphere, the outfits! We have got serious festival envy seeing the many photos and social media posts, as everyone makes their way home from Worthy Farm. Aside from the memorable headliners and acts who rocked the stages at Glasto, we are obsessed with so many outfits and styles that we have seen on our fave celebs. We have definitely found our festival fashion inspo…

Glastonbury 2015 Fashion Inspo Caroline FlackCaroline Flack kept her look simple yet chic teaming a loose cami top with denim shorts (a festival must-have!) Her suede jacket and oversized leopard print sunglasses made her outfit super fashionable and on trend. We are also loving her short ombre hair!
Glastonbury 2015 Fashion Inspo Stella McCartney

Queen of style, Stella McCartney wore one of her own jumpsuits to the festival. The sheer fabric gave her look a retro vibe, while the polkadot pattern kept it modern. We love her effortlessly cool style, as she paired the jumpsuit with wellies and black sunglasses.

Glastonbury 2015 Fashion Inspo Alexa Chung

Festival fashion fave, Alexa Chung, did not disappoint with her choice of outfits at this year’s Glasto. We particularly love this look as it is so different to what Alexa usually goes for (think denim shorts and leather jacket). Her gold shimmer dress with turtle neck has a definite 60s vibe and has given us inspo to glam things up at our next festival!

Glastonbury 2015 Fashion Inspo Adele

We love this hippy chic look from Adele. Her bohemian-style oversized smock top looked great with skinny jeans and ankle boots. Accessorising with a classic Chanel bag and oversized sunnies, she definitely had the laid back style down to a tee. We have some serious hair envy too!

Glastonbury 2015 Fashion Inspo Laura Whitmore

Laura Whitmore is always on point with her festival style. Her cool high-neck suede mini dress is a must-have for this summer! We love her layered necklaces and statement flower bag for those extra touches. Her tousled hair is perfect festival hair inspo too!

Glastonbury 2015 Fashion Inspo Florence Welch

Friday’s headliner, Florence Welch, shone on stage in her flared silver suit and shimmery blouse. Although we think only Florence could pull this off, her outfit combined two of our favourite trends for the summer – 70’s and sparkle. We need to invest in some flares for the summer festival season, but maybe stick to the glitter face paint for some added sparkle!

Glastonbury 2015 Fashion Inspo Suki Waterhouse

There are so many things we love about Suki Waterhouse’s outfit! She brightened up her basic outfit of denim hotpants and knitted crop top, with a fabulous rainbow fringe jacket. When other than Glastonbury could you rock a jacket like this?! Her bright blue mirrored sunglasses are so on trend and we are loving that she opted for a 90’s fave (and extremely practical) bumbag!
